The percentage of junior high school students who are in sports clubs is the lowest ever

NHKは、中学校ちゅうがっこうでサッカーや野球やきゅうなど29の運動部うんどうぶに生徒せいとがどのくらい入はいっているか、都道府県とどうふけんの体育たいいくの団体だんたいなどに聞きいて調しらべました

NHK asked prefectural sports organizations how many students were in 29 sports clubs such as soccer and baseball at junior high schools.

北海道ほっかいどうと36の県けんで、運動部うんどうぶに入はいっている生徒せいとの割合わりあいが今いままででいちばん低ひくいことがわかりました

In Hokkaido and 36 prefectures, the percentage of students participating in sports clubs was found to be the lowest ever.

いちばん低ひくかったのは奈良県ならけんで、50.7%でした

Nara Prefecture had the lowest percentage, at 50.7%.

長野県ながのけんが51%、福岡県ふくおかけんが54.6%でした

51% in Nagano Prefecture and 54.6% in Fukuoka Prefecture

県けんなどによると、生うまれる子こどもが減へって生徒せいとも少すくないため、運動部うんどうぶなどがなくなっています

According to the prefecture, the number of children born has decreased and the number of students has decreased, so sports clubs have disappeared.

全部ぜんぶの生徒せいとが部活動ぶかつどうをしなければならないという決きまりをやめた学校がっこうが増ふえていることも理由りゆうだと言いっています

Another reason is that an increasing number of schools have abandoned the rule that all students must participate in extracurricular activities.

専門家せんもんかは「練習れんしゅうのしすぎが問題もんだいになっていた運動部うんどうぶについて学校がっこうなどがよく考かんがえることはいいと思おもいます
