Magazine library ”Ouya Souichi Archive” accepts donations to continue operations
東京都世田谷区にある「大宅壮一文庫」は、１９７１年にできた日本で最初の雑誌の図書館です
Located at Setagaya in the Tokyo Metropolitan area, Ouya Souichi Archive is Japan’s first magazine library, which started operations in 1971.
You can find 12,600 magazines here collected by the famous journalist Souichi Ouya, but the total number of publications in the library amount to 80,000.
Unfortunately, since people are using the internet nowadays, the library finds it hard to continue to stay open.
このため、大宅壮一文庫は８月から寄付を集めることにしました
Because of this, the library is starting to gather donations this August.
Donations are at least 10,000¥ per person, and at least 100,000¥ per company or organization.

”There are countless information written in the magazines here that cannot be found on the internet,” library staff says.
”This is why we can never let this library close down.”
