Growing supermarkets nationwide declining overall food sales
日本チェーンストア協会によりますと、4月の全国のスーパーの売上高は1兆162億円で、前の年の同じ月と比べて4.5％減少しました
According to the Japan Chain Stores Association, sales of supermarkets nationwide in April were 1,016.2 billion yen, a 4.5% decrease from the same month of the previous year.
Food items increased by 9.5% as more people drank at home due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, but clothing items fell sharply by 53.7% due to supermarkets that refrain from operating.
The Japan Chain Stores Association says that sales of clothing and daily necessities will become even tighter in the future.
