Shoplifting at ”Uniqlo” About 10 million yen in 5 years or two Vietnamese arrested
In April this year, two Vietnamese were arrested for shoplifting about 100,000 yen worth of goods at a store in Tama, Tokyo, of the major clothing chain ”Uniqlo.”
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating that the two repeatedly shoplifted at the same chain store and stole about 10 million yen over the past five years.

Tran Thanh Thuy, 29, and Nguyen Thé Duc, 30, both Vietnamese and unemployed, were arrested.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, in April this year, at a store in Tama City of the major clothing chain ”Uniqlo”, there is a suspicion that 75 items of women’s underwear, worth about 100,000 yen, were stolen.
In response to the investigation, both admitted to the allegations, saying, ”Uniqlo products are popular in Vietnam, so I thought about selling them locally.
He went back and forth between Vietnam and Japan and repeatedly shoplifted.”
Based on the characteristics of the person captured by the security camera and the length of time they stayed in Japan, the Metropolitan Police Department said that the two had been involved in about 40 cases, worth 10 million yen, at stores of the same chain in Tokyo and Saitama Prefecture over the past five years.
