Winter preparations for ``Yukitsuri’’ begin at Kanazawa’s Kenrokuen Garden
石川県金沢市にある兼六園は広くて美しい庭で、有名な所です
Kenrokuen, located in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is a famous place for its large and beautiful garden.
”Yukitsuri” in preparation for winter has started this month at Kenrokuen Garden.
雪吊りは、雪がたくさん降っても、雪の重さで木の枝が折れないようにするために行います
Yukitsuri is done to prevent tree branches from breaking due to the weight of snow even if it snows a lot.
On the 1st, we erected a 14m pillar that is taller than the tree right next to Kenrokuen’s most magnificent pine tree.
Then, I lowered a lot of rope from the top of the pillar and tied it to a branch, making it look like an umbrella.

Many people came to Kenrokuen to watch the Yukitsuri work.
