Walmart raises salaries for store managers for the first time in 10 years, bringing average annual salary to 19 million yen
米小売り大手ウォルマートは１８日、各店舗の運営に責任を持つ店長の平均給与を年１２万８０００ドル（約１９００万円）に引き上げると発表した
U.S. retail giant Walmart announced on the 18th that it will raise the average salary for store managers, who are responsible for operating each store, to $128,000 a year.
これまでの１１万７０００ドルからの引き上げとなる
This is an increase from the previous price of $117,000.
Implementation starts from February 1st
同社はＣＮＮの取材に答え、店長の給与体系の変更について、過去１０年以上で初めての措置だと説明した
In response to an interview with CNN, the company explained that this is the first change in the pay structure for store managers in more than 10 years.
従来の店長の給与は、６万５０００～１７万ドルの範囲で支払われていた
Traditional store manager salaries ranged from $65,000 to $170,000.
Going forward, this range will increase from $90,000 to $170,000 based on store model.
同社は報道向け発表で、店長のボーナス体系についても、売り上げに加えて店舗の利益も強く反映させる計算方式に変更すると明らかにした
The company announced in a press release that it will change its bonus system for store managers to a calculation method that more strongly reflects store profits in addition to sales.
全ての目標を達成した場合、ボーナスは最大で基本給の２００％になる可能性もあるという
If all goals are achieved, the bonus could be up to 200% of the base salary.
一方でウォルマートは、労働市場の冷却化を念頭に一部の新入社員の初任給を引き下げてもいる
