A taxi service where you can find out the fare before you ride may start early this year.
In Japan, you are not able to find out your taxi fare before you decide to ride.
However, the foreign people who visited don’t know how much money it costs when they get out of a taxi and it makes them worried.
That is why the Ministry of Transportation has collaborated with the taxi companies who have licenses to start a service where riders can find out their ride fee before deciding if they want to ride.

Riders will be able to know the fare from the location they get on to the location they get off
If the rider thinks the fare is good, then they can call the taxi to pick them up.
The fare price will not be more expensive during rush hour traffic.
