‘Last Christmas’ by Wham!, number 1 on the English Christmas chart 39 years after release.

On the official Christmas chart organized by England’s BBC Radio 1, the song ‘Last Christmas’ by English duo Wham!, which was released nearly 40 years earlier, has reached number 1.

In a video published on Wham!’s official accounts, Ridgeley reacted to this news, saying “I expect George would be surprised if he were alive”.
“After all these years, we finally got the number one position on the Christmas chart”, is shown on the video.
続けて「ミッションを達成したような気分だよ」とも語り、マイケルさんはチャート１位を狙ってこの曲を書いたと言い添えた
He continued, “it’s a feeling of mission accomplished”, and added that Michael wrote the song aiming at number 1.
