Raise train fares by 10 yen to make stations barrier-free
The government created a system that allows railway companies to raise fares in order to make stations barrier-free.
On the 18th, using this system, railway companies in Tokyo and elsewhere raised train fares by 10 yen.
Fares have been raised for some JR East, Tokyo Metro, Seibu Railway, Odakyu Electric Railway, Yokohama Rapid Railway, Tobu Railway, Sagami Railway, and some JR Tokai.
Railway companies create platform doors and elevators that prevent people from falling onto the tracks, making stations easier to use for the elderly and people with disabilities.
