ドラッグストア最大手のウエルシアホールディングスと売り上げ高2位のツルハホールディングスが経営統合に向けた協議を始めたと発表しました。
Welcia Holdings, the largest pharmaceutical company, and Tsuruha Holdings, the second largest pharmaceutical company by revenue, announced that they have begun discussions on business integration.

ウエルシアの親会社であるイオンは香港の投資ファンドが持つツルハの株式約13.6％を、3月をめどに約1000億円で取得し、自社が持つツルハ株と合わせて筆頭株主となる見込みです。　
Aeon, Welcia's parent company, is expected to acquire about 13.6% of Tsuruha shares held by a Hong Kong investment fund for about 100 billion yen in March and, together with existing Tsuruha shares, will become the largest shareholder.
イオンが主導し、2027年末までに経営統合の最終合意を目指します。　
Aeon will take the lead and aims to reach a final agreement on business integration by the end of 2027.
統合後はウエルシアがツルハの完全子会社に、ツルハはイオンの連結子会社になる方針です。　
Following the merger, Welcia will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Tsuruha and Tsuruha will become a consolidated subsidiary of Aeon.
2社が統合すれば売上高が2兆円を超える日本最大のドラッグストアが誕生します。　
If the two companies merge, Japan's largest drug company will be created with sales exceeding 2 trillion yen.
