Wine price drops as imported wine from EU tariff will be removed.
EPA of new trade rules to eliminate or lower tariffs between Japan and the EU will begin in February this year.
Imported wine to Japan from the EU countries will have no tariff starting February this year.
The current tariff is about 94 yen for 750 mL wine and about 137 yen for sparkling wine.
Suntory will reduce the price of 69 wines imported from the EU from 20 yen to 140 yen starting February 1.
Asahi Breweries will also reduce the price of 40 wines from 300 yen to 300 yen starting March 1.
