Meat products made from plants are increasing.
Since there are increasing numbers of people concerned with their health, companies that make meat from plants and vegetables are increasing.
Ito Ham, starting next month, will be selling 8 different meat products made from soy, such as tonkatsu, meatballs, and hamburgers.
This will be the first time this company has sold meat made from plants for home use.
The company said ”it took us more than 2 years to get the food to have a real meat flavor and smell.”
Nihon Ham will also be selling 5 varieties of food products made from soy and conjac, such as sausage and ham.
In one year, the company says they hope to have 500 million yen in sales.
