JAL raises surcharges to record highs for flights to Hawaii

Japan Airlines has announced that it will raise the fare ”fuel surcharge” on top of international flight fares for tickets issued in October and November.
This is due to soaring fuel prices due to high crude oil prices and the weak yen.
The one-way ticket to North America and Europe costs 57,200 yen, while the one-way ticket to Hawaii costs 37,400 yen, both of which are record highs.
Other airlines are also expected to raise their prices to a record high, and even if border measures are eased, the burden on passengers will increase, and it seems likely that the recovery of demand for international flights will be dampened.
