(Translation by Tagood Japanese) A school has changed the rule which said ”even on cold days you can’t wear your jacket”.

先月せんげつのとても寒さむい日ひ、広島市ひろしましの公立こうりつ中学校ちゅうがっこうに通かよう男子だんし生徒せいとがジャンパーを着きて学校がっこうに行いきました

Last month, on a very cold day, the young boys that attend the Hiroshima Public Middle School went to school wearing (their) jackets.

しかし先生せんせいが、学校がっこうの規則きそくなのでジャンパーを着きてはいけないと言いいました

However, teachers told them that they couldn’t wear jackets due to the school rules.

この生徒せいとは家いえに帰かえるときもジャンパーを着きないで、次つぎの日ひから熱ねつが出でて学校がっこうを休やすみました

This kids also returned home without wearing a jacket and from the following day the came out with a fever and took the day off school.

生徒せいとの家族かぞくは、規則きそくを変かえてほしいと言いっていました

The students’ families said they wanted the school to change the rule.

学校がっこうは寒さむい日ひの上着うわぎについての規則きそくを変かえることを決きめました

The school decided to change the rule about (wearing) coats on cold days.

そして、13日にちに生徒せいと全員ぜんいんの家族かぞくに手紙てがみを配くばりました

Then, they sent a letter to the families of all the students.

しばらくの間あいだは、セーターやマフラーだけでは子こどもの健康けんこうによくないと家族かぞくが考かんがえた場合ばあい、制服せいふくの上うえにウインドブレーカーなどの上着うわぎを着きてもいいと書かいてあります

For the time being, they wrote that if the family believes that sweaters and scarves alone are not good for the child’s health, they may wear a windbreaker or another jacket over the school uniform.

上着うわぎをかける場所ばしょがないため、かばんに入はいる大おおきさにしてほしいと言いっています

Since there are no places to hang the jackets, (the school) said they want them be small enough (to have a size) to fit in their bags.
