According to the Organising Committee, the bids for procurement of Karate mats for Tokyo Olympics were held/opened in July.
Out of 4 companies that participated, 2 had quoted 1 Yen.
The mats of the accepted bids by the 2 companies at 1 Yen were used in he test tournaments held in September. The winner was also decided.
The procured mats are generally valued at 5,000,000 Yen.
According to the organising committee about the trader who won the 1 Yen bid said, ”The trader found it useful for future activities and there is no problem.
