Three people, including a police officer, were injured after being attacked by a wild boar in Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture
Two of them were seriously injured.
According to the fire department, at around 2:40 p.m. on the 8th, a 119 call was received in Tomioka Ichihara saying that ``two people were attacked while three people were trying to catch a wild boar.’’
According to Tomioka City Hall, three people who went to check on a boar trap were attacked by the trapped boar, which was about 140 cm long and weighed about 120 kg.
Of the three, a 93-year-old man and a 71-year-old man were seriously injured, and the remaining one called the police, but a 39-year-old police officer who rushed to the scene was also injured after being attacked by the boar.
Among them, a 71-year-old man was transported by medical helicopter to a hospital outside the city.
The wild boar was exterminated by Tomioka City’s wildlife damage control enforcement team.
