Hackers illegally broke into an American water treatment system and increased the amount of water regulating ”natrium hydroxide” hundredfold.
On Feb 6th in Florida, hackers accessed the wayer treatment system through an app, and increased the concentration of natrium hydroxide into the drinking watwr supply by a hundred times.
High concentration of natrium hydroxide is harmful to the human body.
Local government systems remain vulnerable to hackers due to insufficient infrastructure budgeting, and have been warned to be vigilant of foreign government-backed hackers.
